The Atlanta Constitution, December 26, 1923
Final Rites Today for Dr. J.L. Dunham [sic]
Funeral services will be held Wednesday for Dr. J.L. Dunham, 70, who died at 
his home in Woodville Tuesday. Services will be held from the Woodville Baptist 
church and interment will follow in the churchyard cemetery.

He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania when nineten years of age and 
returned immediately to his native state to begin the practice of his 
profession. For many years Dr. Dunham was the private physician of the late 
Senator Thomas E. Watson. He was a great personal friend also, and Senator 
Watson's only son was named for Dr. Dunham.

Dr. Dunham was well known throughout Georgia.

He is survived by his widow and several children.

Additional Comments:
The book "Cemeteries of Greene County Georgia" lists a birth date of July 25, 
1853 and a death date of Dec 24, 1923. His wife was Jessie McWhorter.
