Robert S. Geer, son of the deceased, officiating. Burial: Penfield Cemetery in Penfield, Ga. Visitation: 7 a.m. to noon Wed. Jan. 21 at Conger's Funeral Home in Arcadia. She died at 1:30 a.m. Tuesday Jan. 20, 1981 at Bienville General Hospital in Arcadia. Mrs. Geer was a retired U.S. Postal clerk. She is preceded in death by her husband, William Fred Geer. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. H. Rupert Sledge of Arcadia; three sons, Dr. William D. Geer of Birmingham, Alabama, Rev. Robert S. Geer of Miami, Florida, and H. Calvin Geer of Augusta, Georgia; 12 grandchildren. ___________________________ Mrs. Ida F. Geer from: The Augusta Herald, Wednesday Afternoon, January 21, 1981: ARCADIA, La. - Mrs. Ida Fuller Geer of Arcadia died Tuesday. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Poteet Funeral Home Green Street Chapel with Rev. Robert S. Geer and Dr. George L. Balentine officiating. Burial will be in the Penfield, Ga., cemetery at 2:30 pm. A former Augustan, Mrs. Geer, the widow of W. Fred Geer, was a native of Waterloo, S.C., and a retired postal service employee. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Augusta, the Sanctuary Choir and Faith-Victory- Mizpah Sunday School Class. She was a member of the Womens Missionary Union, Golden Years Club, National Association of Retired Federal Employees, Augusta Womans Club, Augusta Garden Club, Silver Threads and the Elizabeth chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. For many years she played the organ at the S&S Sunday School Class on Broad Street sponsored by First Baptist Church. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. H. Rupert Sledge of Arcadia; three sons, Dr. William D. Geer of Birmingham, Ala., Rev. Robert S. Geer of Miami, FL, and H. Calvin Geer of Augusta. Pallbearers will be John W. Geer, James R. Sledge, R. Fred Geer, David C. Geer, James F. Geer, Samuel T. Geer and Paul D. Geer. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 until 9 p.m. Thursday. Geer, nee Ida Fuller, died early Tuesday morning, January 20th in the Bienville General Hospital, following a brief illness. Services for Mrs. Geer, age 88, a resident of Augusta, Georgia, and the mother of Mrs. Rupert Sledge, of Arcadia were held Friday in the Poteet Funeral Home Chapel, in Augusta, Georgia, with her son, Rev. Robert S. Geer, Pastor of the Gateway Baptist Church, Miami, Florida, Dr. George Balentine, Pastor of the First Baptist Church, Augusta, and the Rev. J. Hoffman Harris, Pastor of the Briarlake Baptist Church, Atlanta, officiating. Interment followed in the Penfield Cemetery, Penfield, Georgia. Mrs. Geer, the widow of W. F. Geer, was a native of Waterloo, SC, and a retired postal service employee. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Augusta, where she was member of the Sanctuary Choir, the Faith-Victory- Mizpah Sunday School Class, the Woman's Missionary Union and was the organist for the Sunday School Class, held in the S & S and sponsored by the church. She was also a member of the Golden Years Club, National Association of Retired Federal Employees, Augusta Woman's Club, Augusta Garden Club, silver Threads and the Elizabeth Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. Survivors include Mrs. Sledge, nee Margaret Geer, three sons, Dr. William Geer, of Birmingham, Alabama, Rev. [sic] Robert S. Geer, of Miami, Florida, and H.
