F. Geer Dead from: The Herald-Journal, Greensboro, GA, Vol. 40, #5 - Friday, March 3, 1905, p. 5 After an illness extending over a year, Mr. J. F. Geer passed to his reward at the home of his son Mr. E. C. Geer at Penfield, Wednesday night. Mr. Geer spent quite a while in Greensboro last year with his son Mr. J. J. Geer, but during the fall he returned to Penfield where his health gradually declined to the end. His remains were interred at Penfield yesterday afternoon Rev. J. C. Callaway officiating at the funeral exercises. He leaves two daughters and two sons to mourn his loss: Mrs. J. English of Penfield, Mrs. W. H. Weatherly of Athens, Mr. E. C. Geer of Penfield and Mr. J. J. Geer of Greensboro. He was the grandfather of Mrs. Marshall Bryant, Messrs. Len, Percy, R. L., J. H., and Claude McCommons of Greshamville.
