Death of an Aged Lady
from: The Herald-Journal, Greensboro, GA, Friday, May 8, 1908, p. 1:

   Monday morning at 4 o'clock, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. W. H. 
Weatherly, in Athens, occurred the death of Mrs. M. B. Geer, after a long 
illness.  Mrs. Geer had reached the advanced age of 83 years, and her death was 
not unexpected, even though it was a great shock to her loved ones.
   Mrs. Geer, through a long and useful life, had laid up treasures above, and 
her going was but the answer to the summons from the Master, the entrance into 
the better hand.  The funeral occurred Tuesday at the old family burial ground 
near Penfield.  Among those who attended from Greensboro were Mr. and Mr. J. H. 
McCommons, Mr. and Mrs. Marshall Bryant, Mr. Fred Geer, and Mr. L. C. 
McCommons, of Thomson, came to attend the funeral.
