The Cherokee Advance [Canton, GA]    Friday  1 April 1887 p 3

Rev. Joshua Knowles, Rector of Greensboro Episcopal church, died last Friday. He 
was an old editor, having been connected with the press fifty years or more. He 
did editorial work in Milledgeville, Macon, Rome, Greensboro, Ga., and 
Tallahassee, Fla. He was a good man, and though he had passed his "three score 
years and ten" we lament his death.
