The funeral of Mr. Lucius Patrick was held at Penfield Cemetery at 4 o'clock in the afternoon, October 25th. The funeral was conducted by his pastor, Mr. C. Thomas Greer. Mr. Lucius Patrick was born in Greene County, June 22, 1849. He died in Putnam County, October 24, 1922. Aged 73 years. He had been a constant sufferer of heart trouble for 25 years, yet remained active in part until a few days before his death. He was married to Miss Sarah C. Jarrell of White Plains, about 1896. This union was blessed with seven daughters and four sons, of which nine children are now living. We commend the surviving widow and family to the grace of God, which is only able to comfort at this time. Mr. Patrick joined Shiloh Baptist Church, Greene County, when 22 years of age and remained there for life. He loved his church and was loyal to his work. He was a good citizen, a kind father and friend. He is gone but yet liveth. We miss him but God knew best. May his virtues be remembered by all who knew him. C. Thomas Greer, His Pastor
