Graveside rites set for Rhodes

UNION POINT, Ga. - Graveside services for William H. Rhodes Sr., 56, mayor of 
Union Point, who died Wednesday at Boswell Memorial Hospital, Greensboro, GA., 
will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Wisteria Cemetery. The Revs. H.P. J. 
L'heureux and Bill Byington will officiate.

Mayor Rhodes called "Foots" by his friends, was a native of Union Point. He 
was a druggist with Rhodes Drug Company and had been in business with his 
brother, Ralph L. Rhodes, for the past 33 years.

He was a member of First Presbyterian Church and an active member of local 
civic clubs. He was one of the few Georgia mayors to serve eight consecutive 
years without opposition.
