Mrs. BETHENY WARD, relict of Mr. Jonathan Ward, died Oct 11th, 1856, in Greene 
Co., Ga., in her 82nd year.She was born May 30th, 1775, in Martin Co., N. C., 
joined the M. E. Church in her 16th year, and was married in her 19th year.  
She then removed to Columbia Co., Ga.  She was a pious member of the church for 
more than 60 years.   She was the subject of great affliction for many years, 
and was unable to attend the house of prayer, or the ministry of the word, in 
which she very much delighted.  During her last hours, she frequently expressed 
herself ready for her change.  After the power of speech had apparently failed, 
she partially revived, and expressed herself willing and prepared to depart; 
and in a short time she breathed her last; and her disembodied spirit passed 
away to the saint's rest in heaven.
