Marriage License / State of Georgia, County of Greene
To any Judge, Justice of the Peace or Minister of the Gospel:
You are hereby authorized to join James D. Champion and Mary S. Janes  in 
Marriage, provided there be no lawful cause to obstruct their union, and for 
so doing this shall be your sufficient license; and you are required to return 
this License to the Ordinary of said County, with our certificate thereon as 
to the fact and date of the Marriage.

Given under my hand and seal, this 18th day of May 1864.

in Marriage by me this nineteenth day of May 1864.
