DR. THOMAS P. JANES, SR. 
 
born September 11, 1823 in Crawfordville, Taliaferro Co., GA, and died March 
13, 1885 in Greene Co., GA.  He married Emily Eliza FISH  December 20, 1842.  
She was born 1824 and died 1894. 
From Pages 522-523 - Dictionary of Georgia Biography (edited by Kenneth Coleman 
and Charles Stephen Gurr) Janes, Thomas P.  Planter, commissioner of 
agriculture.  Born Crawfordville, Ga., 1828; died Greene County, Ga., 13 March 
1885.  Son of Absalom and Martha  Cornelia Calloway Janes.  Married Eliza Fish, 
date unknown. 
Children: Edward, Arthur, Walter, one daughter, and perhaps others. Education: 
Mercer Institute; Columbian College, A.B. (1842); [Harvard University?], M.D. 
(1847).
