Dept Of Archives And History Written: September 10, 1825 Recorded: January 9, 1826 Georgia In the name of God Amen Greene County I, Phillip Blassingame of the county of Greene In the state aforesaid being weak in body but of sound & perfect mind & memory do make & publish this, my last will & testament in manner & form following. That is to say that after all of my debts are paid out of my estate, my will & desire is that my beloved wife Frances Blassingame shall have one bed and furniture, one horse saddle and bridle, (my, the grey horse), one trunk & the youse (sic) of the whole of the land during her natural life wherever I now reside. Also, it is my will & desire that my daughter Elizabeth Bradshaw shall have one negro boy named Jolly & the heirs of Benjamin Blassingame shall have five dollars each. & also the heirs of Rachel Ward to have five dollars & also Sarah Boles to have five dollars & my daughter Polly Awtry to have one negro girl by the name of Hannah & also my son James Blassingame to have one negro woman by the name of Rachel & two of her children, one a boy by the name of Jacob and a girl by the name of Charity. & all my interest in the anticipated land lottery (viz.) two draws for which I gave in as a revolutionary soldier. Also my daughter Nancy Awtry to have a negro girl by the name of Chancy. It is also my will & desire that if there is any surplus money after discharging all of my fair debts is that it is to be equally divided between my daughter Elizabeth Bradshaw and Polly Awtry. & Nancy Awtry also after the death of my wife Frances Blassingame. The land & all of the remaining property shall be sold and the proceeds equally divided between my daughters Elizabeth Bradshaw, Polly Awtry, & Nancy Awtry & my son James Blassingame. It is also my will & desire that my son James Blassingame shall have & take care of my old negro woman Sally during her life time. I hereby appoint my son James Blassingame and Absolom Awtry my whole and sole executors of this my last will & testament hereby revoking all former wills by me made. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this tenth (10th) day of September in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred & twenty five. Test:.
