I William Furlow of the State of and County of Greene being in a low and weak state of bodily health but of perfect sound mind and memory and calling to mind the uncertainty of life and that it is appointed to all once(?) to die -- do on this ninth day of September this year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety nine make constitute and appoint this to be my last will and Testament -- hereby revoking disannulling and declaring to be utterly void and of none affect all former wills bequeaths and arrangements by me made or appointed that is to say -- In the first place I give and bequeath unto my daughter Sarah Furlow saddle and bridle to be of the same value with those her sisters formerly had. 2dly I give and bequeath all my stock of horses cattle hoggs furniture excepting what is already claimed and acquired(?) by the children separately to be equally divided between my wife Margaret and my two sons William and Charles but not to be paid(?) to nor removed during the natural life of my said wife as it is my wish and I do hereby will it and that all the property as it now is shall remain in her hands during her life excepting that part that I have bequeathed to my daughter Sarah. 3dly I do bequeath to my son William my negro fellow named Bob. And I do likewise bequeath to my son Charles the negro Winch intended to be purchased by his brothers for him as they have money of mine in their hand, to that effect -- 4thly I do hereby direct that after the death of my said wife that all my real estate be sold at Public Sale to the best advantage and the product thereof divided in the following manner/ Viz: that my three daughters Mary Margaret and Sarah and I hereby give and bequeath it to have one hundred dollars each and the residue I give and bequeath to be equally divided between my five sons James John David William and Charles. 5thly I do hereby empower my executors to convey any balance by added or otherwise agreeably late clauses in this my will to that effect. And lastly I do hereby constitute and appoint my three sons James David William to be the Executors of this my last will and Testament of him the said William Furlow in the presence of Allan Stewart, John Harrison & Peyton Smith subscribing witnesses who was present and do attest the signing have executed the same. Smith marke Georgia Greene County Allan Stewart & John Harrison two of the subscribers evidenced to the within will come personally before me & made oath that they saw the within will duly executed by the said William Furlow & conceived him to be in proper mind & memory at the time of his signing the same, and that they also subscribed the same as evidenced with Peyton Smith.
