All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/ga/gafiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Vance Harris harrisbrewing@gmail.com April 26, 2010, 7:56 am Source: Greene County Will Book E, P. 123-24 Written: December 12, 1810 Recorded: November 2, 1813 In the name of God, Amen I Mathew Harris of the County of Greene and State of Georgia being sick and weak in body but of sound mind and memory (thanks be to God for it) and calling into mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die; do make this my last will and Testament (Viz) Principally and first of all I give and recommend my soul into the hands of Almighty God that first gave it and my Body I recommend to the Earth to be buried in a decent Christian like manner at the discretion of my Executors. And with regard to such worldly Estate wherewith it has pleased God to bless me with in this life I give demise and dispose of the same in the following manner and form to wit. Item I give to my Son James Harris five dollars Item I give to my Son Nelson Harris five dollars Item I give to my daughter Christeanna Hills five dollars Item I give to my daughter Polly Pyron five negroes to wit one negro woman named Selah and her Children called Cresa, Vilet, and Tobe and one other boy called Anthony, Two feather beds and furniture and at the death of my said Daughter Polly Pyron the said negroes and their increases as well as the two beds shall be equally divided amongst the lawful heirs of her the said Polly Pyrons own body. Item I give to my son Morris Harris ten negroes to wit Demus, Lewis, Peter, Isaac, Patt, Betty, Dica, Daniel, Beck, and Agnes also my Gun, my Ox Cart also all my stock of cattle, Horses, Hogs ect. and also all the Household and Kitchen furniture Plantation Tools and every thing else belonging to said plantation that is not expresly mentioned in this will. I appoint my Son Morris Harris my lawful Executor to this my last will and testament and to carry the same into Execution. In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 12th day of December 1810. Roberts' will was recorded in Isle of Wight County Virginia in 1740. Mathew is also mentioned in the will of his uncle Martin Harris whose will was proved in Southampton County Virginia in 1750.
