King, Ordinary Recorded in Book G, pages 299 & 300 July 5th, 1864 Eugenius L. King, Ordinary Georgia} Greene County} In the name of God, Amen I Alexander King of the State and County aforsaid ____ being of sound and disposing mind & memory do make and publish this my last will & testament in ____ and form following to wit: In the first place I wish my just debts paid. Secondly I will and bequeath unto my son Ulysses B. King his heirs and assigns the following named negroes and their future increase to wit Anny and her two childrens Henry and Sarah. Third, It is my will and desire that the remainder of my negroes be divided into two equal shares or parts, one of which share I will and bequeath unto my son Ulysses B. King his heirs and assigns forever and the other share I will and bequeath unto my daughter Frances Grens(?) to and for her sole and separate use, free from the contracts of her husband for and ____ her natural life and at her death I will and bequeath said property to her children. Fourth It is my will that my plantation be sold at such time as my executors herein after named shall deem ____, also all my other property of any kind not herein before disposed of, and from this proceeds of such sale that my Executors pay to my Grand daughter Julia Dickinson, wife of Dacker(?) Dickinson the sum of Five Hundred Dollars and appropriate the remainder to the payments of my debts & if there should thing be to balance left, then the same be divided into two equal shares, one of which I give to my son Ulysses B. King and the other I will & bequeath to my daughter Frances Gruns(?) to and for her sole and separate use free from the contracts of her husband during her natural life and at her death I give said money to her children. Fifth I nominate constitute and appoint Ulysses B. King and Y___t__ P. King Executors of this my last will and testament hereby revoking & making void all former wills. I Alexander King of the state & county aforesaid, being ____ of sound & disposing mind & memory and being desirious to make an alteration in said will, so ___ at ___ to the sale of my plantation which I have in said will directed to be sold, do hereby divide & bequeath the said plantation to my son Ulysses B. King his heirs and assigns forever. In testimony whereof I have hereto set my hand & seal this 12 December 1865. Alx. King State of Georgia} Greene County} Court of Ordinary, July Term 1864 Personally came into open court Thomas Miller one of the subscribing witnesses to the within foregoing last will and testament of Alexander King late of said county, dec’d, who upon oath said that he saw Alexander King the Testator sign, seal, & heard him declare the same as his last will & testament, freely, voluntarily & of his own accord & without any compulsion whatever; that at the time of the execution of said will said Testator was of sound & disposing mind and memory; that the deponent, together with John E. Walker and Henry H. King signed said Will as witnesses in the presence of each other & in the presence of the Testator. Sworn to & subscribed in open Court} Thos. Miller July 4th 1864 Eugenius L. King, Ordinary State of Georgia} Greene County} Court of Ordinary July Term 1864 Personally came into open court William G. Dunn and William A. Corry, two of the subscribing witnesses to the within & foregoing codicil to the last Will & Testament of Alexander King, late of said county dec’d, who upon oath say that they saw Alexander King the Testator, sign seal & heard him declare the same as a Codicil to his foregoing last Will & Testament, freely, voluntarily & of his own accord & without any compulsion whatever; that they deponents together with Hugh M. King signed said Codicil as witnesses in the presence of each other and in the presence of the Testator. Sworn to & subscribed in Open Court} William G. Dunn Before me William A.
