Godkin, Ordinary In the name of God, Amen. I, William C. King, at this time in feeble health, but of sound and disposing mind and memory, do make and publish this my last will and testament. Item 1st I direct that after my decease my body be buried in a decent manner suited to my circumstances. Item 2nd I give and bequeath to my beloved wife, Martha King, all the property both real and personal of which I may die possessed, for and during the term of her natural life, provided she shall remain in the situation in which I leave her, that is to say in a state of widowhood. But if my said wife, Martha King, shall marry then all my property of every kind shall immediately go to and be vested in my two children, Sarah E. M. King, and John King and be divided equally between them. Item 3rd At the death of my said wife, Martha, I direct that all my property be equally divided between my said children, Sarah E. M. and John King. Item 4th I direct that during the life or widowhood of my wife, Martha, the whole of my estate shall be kept together, and that my said children be supported and educated out of the proceeds thereof. If, however, my said wife shall be disposed to give to either of my said children, on marrying or attaining the age of twenty one years, any part of my estate, she may be at liberty to do so, taking at the time, an account of the property so given, and which shall be considered an advancement to each child on making the final division of my estate. Item 5th I hereby constitute and appoint my friends, Jesse Pierce and Woodford Wallace, Executors, and my wife Martha King, Executrix of this my last will and testament. Ware, Theophilus Pierce & Freeman Lewis, the subscribing witnefses to the written last will & testament of William C. King, dec’d & on oath say that they saw him sign & heard him declare the same to be his last will & testament and that they each believed him to be of perfect & sound mind & memory at the time of his signing the same, and that they in the presence of each other & in the presence of the Testator signed their names as witnefses thereto.
