They were parents of John Whatley. Michael's will was written in Washington County, GA, and proven in Greene Co., GA. It can be found on LDS microfilm #1,765,917. In the name of God Amen. I Michael Whatley of the State of Georgia and County of Washington in perfect health and of sound mind and memory but calling to mind the mortality of my body do make and ordain this my last will and Testament in manner and form following and first of all I do give and bequeath unto my dearly beloved Wife Catharine My Whole Estate for her Maintenance during her life Except a Negro boy named Peter, a Mahogony Desk, a Feather Bed, a Roan horse called Tyrall and the Tract of Land and plantation whereon I now live containing 200 acres and any Lands That I may purchase adjoining thereto which I do give & bequeath to my youngest son Elisha & it is my will and pleasure that the property above mentioned fall into his possession as soon as he arrivesd at the age of 21 years. And after the decease of my dearly beloved Wife it is my Will & pleasure that the remainder of my Estate be divided as follows: Item To my Daughter Franky Mason I give and bequeath a Negro Woman named Milley to be her own proper use and behalf of her heirs forever. Item To my son Thomas I give and bequeath a negro girl named June to be his own proper use and behalf & his Heirs forever. Item To my son Jesse I give and bequeath a Negro Girl named Patt to him & his heirs forever. Item To my Daughter Caty Morgan I give & bequeath a Negro boy named Harry to her and her Heirs forever. Item. To my Granson Hiram Whatley, son of Richard Whatley & Frances his wife, I give & bequeath a Negro boy named Jim to him & his Heirs forever. Item to my son John I give & bequeath a Horse to be valued to ten pounds Sterling to be paid out of my movable Estate. Item to my Son Richard I give and bequeath a Cow and calf to be paid likewise out of my moveable property. Item. To my son Michael I give & bequeath in like mannner a Cow & calf. Item to my son Daniel I give & Bequeath a Feather Bed & Furniture to him & his heirs forever. Item. And all the rest of my Movable Estate note above mentioned I leave and it is my will that it be equally divided between my said son Daniel, Peggy Pickard wife of John Pickard to them and their Heirs forever, and last of all I do constitute make & ordain my son Daniel Whatley and My son Elisha Whatley sole Executors of this my last will & Testatment and I do utterly disallow revoke and Disannul all other Executors, by me before appointed and all other Wills and Testaments heretofore made by me.
