The church and cemetery are on the left at the corner of Suwanee Dam Road and Flat Creek Road. About the Cemetery: Level Creek UMC Cemetery is well maintained by the church. Some stones are very old, weathered and difficult to read. The oldest date of burial is 1805. There were approximately 580 individuals buried with markers at the cemetery at the time of this transcription. There is evidence that some graves do not have a marker. The cemetery is still being actively used for burials. Many family groups are surrounded by a stone, brick, granite, or marble threshold. Many headstones serve to identify two or more individuals. Some are obviously husband and wife but other relationships are represented, such as a child or sibling. About this transcription: HS = headstone FS = footstone For purposes of this transcription, the cemetery has been divided into four sections, A-D, and identified by compass points. Inscriptions that are unreadable or blank are indicated by a line (_____). A group or paired stone is identified above the first person and each person is separated by a dashed line (-----------). Epitaphs are in lower case. Any special designs on stones are listed in lower case letters in parenthesis.
