Fenced cemetery located on the right in a copse of trees atop a hill, between a power substation and a residential subdivision (Chattahoochee Station). Medlock b. 1863 d. 1866 A large, decorative 6’ obelisk. Weathered and leaning toward grave. Robert Medlock b. December 31, 1832 d. April 23, 1919 Inscription on base, in large letters: "MEDLOCK" Inscription: "May ye find joy in the life everlasting" A brass wreath with centered star anchored at base reads: "Confederate War Veteran" A large, decorative 6’ obelisk. Weathered, shifted 90 degrees, and leaning toward grave. Monument needs to be rubbed to capture full detail of text: Adaline E. Wife of Robert Medlock Sr. b. 1833 d. 1903 Inscription on base, in large letters: "MEDLOCK" Inscription: "She has gone to her home in heaven, xxxx all of her xxxx" Shallow crypt, with engraved top slightly shifted. Heavily weathered, had to refer back to handwritten notes from partial survey conducted in 1995. Monument needs to be rubbed to capture full detail of text: Sacred to the memory of Robert McAfee, Sr. Departed this earth May 31, 1818 Aged 30 [50?] years Large grave marked with 5’ tall, 6" x 6" granite column at head; 18" tall, 6" x 6" granite column at foot. No inscription. Row 3 Cast bronze VA head plate marker: Bud B. Bentley GA CPL Co F 307 Engineers WWI b. July 9, 1892 d. February 27,1963 Cast bronze head plate marker: Maude L. Bentley b. January 23, 1902 d. July 1, 1964 Some distance between next graves. No markers, but at least two depressions in ground surface. Soil yields when tread upon, and is overgrown with moss. Approximately 20’ further to the right, a crude, flat fieldstone head marker with no inscription marks a large grave overgrown with moss. Small cut granite head marker, no inscription. June 8, 1907 Inscription: "God’s hand touched him and he slept" Inscription on base: "BENTLEY" Large 3’ tall x 3" wide marble headstone. Robert J. Son of J.W. and Maggie Bentley b. September 11, 1883 d. May 21, 1912 Inscription: "To die is gain" Inscription on base: "BENTLEY" Last marked grave on row, with 20’ of open space to the right. Row 5 Modern dual granite headstone. Centered top inscription: "HUGHES" Inscription: "In my father’s house are many mansions" Joseph C. b. February 16, 1930 Frances B. b. June 15, 1934 d. April 31, 1980 Modern dual granite headstone. Centered inscription: "BENTLEY" Rose Bentley b. December 1, 1908 d. June 26, 1998 George L. b. September 7, 1888 d. March 9, 1944 Grave has small American flag next to it. Old, weathered headstone. William C. Son of J.W. & M. Bentley b. January 15, 1878 d. November 23, 1883 Inscription is worn, needs rubbing. Simple fieldstone head marker, possibly engraved, now overgrown with lichen and undecipherable. Ornate marble/slate crypt cover flush with ground, weathered and cracked. W. Kirkland Born in Nottinghamshire, England January 22, 1803 Died April 13, 1866 Leaving a widow and 7 living children Aged 76 years [note age discrepancy] "No pain, no grief, no anxious fear can reach the peaceful sleeper here" Large grave with simple fieldstone head and foot markers, no inscription. Large grave with cut granite or marble head and foot markers, no inscription. Large square marble headstone, leaning slightly. Elizabeth Kirkland Adams Wife of James S. Adams 1860 - 1937 Row 6 Nina Mae Bandy b. January 13, 1907 d. October 18, 1908 Grave has marble overlay, cracked in several places and weathering. Needs to be cleaned and rubbed for transcription.
