Proceed approximately 1.5 miles to intersection with Brooks Drive, and turn RIGHT. Proceed approximately 1 mile WEST on Brooks Drive, slow and look for cemetery on immediate LEFT, adjacent to residential gravel driveway. Survey initiated from west end of cemetery, left to right. This small, 60’ x 70’ open area rests on a plateau surrounded by large trees and forest. Overall condition of the area is good, with no active forest encroachment. Site located in a RAPIDLY developing area adjacent to a high traffic thoroughfare and should be monitored for encroachment. The site contains at least 25 marked graves in four rows, however, only two graves possess headstones with inscriptions. All others are marked with small pieces of fieldstone, which could be easily moved. Investigator comments contained in brackets. All corrections, suggestions, and queries are welcome. Pharr Cemetery is in need of precise survey, including measurement of dimensions, marking of graves, and a graphical rendering of each physical grave location. Row 1 In memory of John J. Higgins b.
