When I say us I mean all of the connections. Hoping these lines may come to (?) and find you all well and doing well. Brother I am happy to say to you I received your letter while thrashing wheat. Brother I can't describe my feelings. You wanted some news of this country. I can (????) to (?) if you (??). There is a great change in this country since you was here. It is stuck full of machinery, prohibitions, and stock law is salient. I will turn from that subject brother - Sister Susie and Rosie is livin, yet the both of their men is dead. James McCart and Jack is both livin. I am just tired bad about James. Brother I want you to write and give me some information what to do with him. His wife and oldest son is both dead. Jackson McCart and his wife has been parted seven or eight years. No chance for them to get back together. He is livin about 13 miles south of me makin money and spending it. Well I say something about J.F. McCart. He is livin 8 miles west of me doing nairy a thing but working hard. Children all with him (??) Brother I say something about my little tribe. I have six children 3 boys and 3 girls. The two oldest girls married, both of the oldest boys too. Two with me yet, one boy and my baby girl 8 years old. None of them don't own land but the oldest boy. He got a farm by his wife. He lives 3 miles south of me. My oldest girl and her man is livin on a place, two miles north of me, that I lived a few years ago. Next oldest girl and her man is livin 3 miles west. Next boy livin at my old place built and moved out about three hunder yards on the road. Brother me and my little boy is runnin a farm, we make plenty to do us. Brother I can't work as I used to work. I want to say to you I got all my lands paid for and got deeds to them. Now buddy, it haint not boastin but I stands pretty fair in this country. July 6th Brother you want to know somethin about crops wheat half (??) pretty good on my crop at home. I made 54 bushels of wheat. Corn pretty good. Cotton common. Brother this country has improved a heap since you left here. There is a station at what was (?) off old sneezer (?). On this road two miles above me there is 5 or 6 big new houses and three big white church houses. Most in sight of my house. 3 big school houses close by. Well brother my mind turns. W.P. Williams, Peter Rawlings, Sam Rawlings, John Rutledge, Reubin Donaldson, H.W. Donaldson, Joel Johnson, William Beacal - I can't think of anymore at this time you know - yes H.R. Hannah. All of them is dead and gone. Brother I wish I could see you and talk with you one hour. I can talk but I can't write. July 8th - Brother whys I did not finish Susan was taken sick with the colery (??) Thank God she is better. Well still rainy, corn looks prosperous, too wet for cotton. Brother I want to finish my crop this week. I started my children to school the sixth. Brother I got a letter from brother Larkin McCart last week. He wrote they was all well, except he is doing (?). He is in Columbus, Georgia. Brother I must close. I did not give you the names of my children. Turn (??) List of Names Casander Alpara McCart Malinda Pathara McCart J.M. McCart W.N. McCart T.E. McCart and last, Livinia McCart Brother I am gettin old, I have got thirteen grandchildren. I close for this time. Don't forget the post office Centerville years ago was called old Sneezer one and 1/2 miles from my house Now I close by saying don't forget to write. Give me all the news you have, write how you are gittin along in this world and tell me the prospect for the world to come. Brother look over bad spelling and writing. You know how I (????)
