Wise Bounty Land Warrant To be made where the soldier has had a warrant, and desires another State of Georgia County of Gwinnett On this 20th day of April, A.D. One Thousand Eight Hundred and Fifty five personally appeared before me, a Justice of the Peace, within and for the county and State aforesaid, Wiley Bridges aged fifty nine who being duly sworn according to law, declares that he is the identical Wiley Bridges who was a private in the company commanded by Captain Martin Boon in the regiment of drafted men commanded by Colonel Samuel Groves in the war with Great Britain declared the 18 June 1882 for the term of six months and continued in actual service in said war for fourteen days; that he has heretofore made application for bounty land under the act of September 28,1850, and received a land warrant, No. now forgotten for eighty acres which he has since legally disposed of and cannot now return. He makes this declaration for the purpose of obtaining the additional bounty land to which he may be entitled under the act approved the 3d day of March , 1855. He also declares, that he has never applied for nor received, under this or any other act of Congress, any bounty land warrant except the one above mentioned. State of Georgia County of Gwinnett On this the seventh day of November A.D. one thousand eight hundred and fifty personally appeared before me, a Justice of the Peace within and for the County and State aforesaid, Wiley Bridges aged fifty five years, a resident of Gwinnett County in the State of Georgia who being duly sworn according to law, declares that he is the idntical Wiley Bridges who was a private in the Company of Malitia commanded by Captain Martin Boone in the Regiment commanded by Col. Saul Groves in the War known as the War against Great Britain declared on 18th June 1812 that he was drafted and was mustered into the service of the United States at Fort Hawkins in the State of Georgia on or about the first day of May A.D. one thousand eight hundred and fifteen after eace was proclaimed -- he first was attached to Captain David Gillispies Company from Jackson County Georgia and that Company being too large he was transferred to ____the Company of Captain Boone as above stated. That he received? a regular written discharge which was handed over to George Pentecost to draw the pay of deponent and the same is lost nor does he know wehre said Pentecost is. He makes this declaration for the purpose of obtaining the Bounty Land to which he may be entitled under the Act granting Bounty Land to certain Officers and Soldiers who have been engaged in the Military service of the United States passed September 28th 1850. Deponent has never received and is not entitled to receive any Bounty Land under any Act of Congress heretofore passed. War Of 1812 Declaration for Pension State of Mississippi County of Alcorn On this the 8th day of April A.D. one thousand eight hundred and sevety one personally appeared before me R.J. Fleming Clerk of the Chancery Court of Alcorn County State of Mississippi, a court of record within and for the county and state aforesaid, Wiley Bridges aged sevety six years, a resident of Alcorn county in the state of Mississippi who being duly sworn according to law declares that he is married, that his wife's name was Matilda Jones, to whom he was married in that part of Jackson County Georgia, now called Gwinnett County on the 23rd day of June A.D. 1815: That he served the full period of sixty (60) days in the military service of teh United States in the War of 1812: That he is the identical Wiley Bridges who was drafted in Captain David Gillespie's Company (this company being organized at Jackson County Georgia) at Jackson County GEorgia but shortly afterwards the company reaching Macon Georgia, this claimant , with others of Gillespie's Company, was transferred to Captain Martin Boone's company to equalize in numbers the two companies both of these companies were in Colonel Saul T. Groves (Georgia Regiment in Gen'l MCIntosh Brigade, was drafted as aforesaid in August A.D. 1813: (day not remembered), and was honorably discharged at Macon Georgia in May A.D. 1814 (day not remembered) was stationed at Mobile Alabama until reception of news of peace where claimant with his company was sent to Macon, Georgia, and then discharged. That he at no time during the late Rebellion against the authority of the United States, adhered to the cause of the enemies of the Government, giving them aid or comfort, or exercised the functions of any office whatever under any authority or intended authority in hostility to the United States; and that he will support the Constitution of the United States , that he is not in receipt of a pension under any previous act; that he makes this declaration for the purpose of being placed on the pension roll of the United States, under the provision of the act approved Feby 14th 1871 and he hereby constitutes and appoints with full power of substitution and revocation F.E. Whitfield Jr. of Corinth Miss. his true and lawful attorney -- to prosecute his claim and obtain the pension certificate that may be issued; that his Post Office is at Corinth county of Alcorn State of Mississippi; that his domicile or place of abode is in said county of Alcorn near Corinth.
