He has lived at this place for many years, and while his age is not positively known, from the best information that can be obtained he is between one hundred and ten and one hundred and thirteen years old. It is known that he is not under one hundred and ten. During last week we passed his residence and enquired about him and was informed by his wife he was out in the field ploughing. He is hearty and able to do considerable work. On account of his straightened circumstances, he is compelled to work in the field to support himself and aged wife. We understand the county authorities have been assisting him some time until this year, but he is needing help now as much as ever, and in our opinion it would be commendable in the commissioners to continue to aid him. He is so far as we know, the only survivor of a former century in the country. ---Gwinnett Herald File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/ga/gwinnett/newspapers/theoldes123nnw.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.net/gafiles/ File size: 1.7 Kb
