Lawrenceville, Georgia Monday, June 9, 1919 No. 73 AN OLD CONFEDERATE SOLDIER DIED TUESDAY Mr. John C. Dutton, one of Gwinnett's honored confederate veterans, died on Wednesday at his home near Pharr's academy, and his remains were laid to rest Thursday in the cemetery at Mount Zion church, the funeral being preached by Rev. J. M. Hudlow. The deceased had reached the advanced age of eighty-five, and he leaves a widow, six sons, four daughters and a number of grand children to mourn his loss. Mr. Dutton saw active service in the war between the states as a member of company K, Thirty-sixth Georgia regiment. He was an honorable, upright citizen, and the friends of the family extend sympathy in his passing.
