She was born in Oglethorpe County in 1812 and was married to Garland Grogan in Cobb in the thirties. She is survived by one daughter, with whom she lived and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Her memory was remarkable and she frequently recited incidents of the Creek Indian war, the “falling stars” and the “cold Saturday” and talked intelligently of many of the events of Georgia history.
