Vernon R. Klaudt, 76, of Suwanee, died Saturday, September 9, 2006. He was an American Indian native of Ft. Berthold, N.D., had an undergraduate degree, a seminary degree from Candler School of Theology, five master’s degrees and a doctorate degree. He was an educator and principal in Gwinnett County for 17 years and 2 more years at Mount Paran Christian School. He ministered from the age of 14 to 50 with his siblings and parents in the Klaudt Indian Family around the United States and from 1984-2005 in the Vernon and Betty Klaudt Indian Ministries in 117 countries and on 6 continents. Survivors include his wife, Betty Klaudt, Suwanee; son and daughter-in-law, Kim Vernon and Susan Klaudt, Cleveland, Tenn.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Karla and Ben Bailey, Hull, Keribeth and Danny Pruett, Colbert; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Mel “Chief” and Margie Klaudt, Lawrenceville, Ray and Connie Klaudt, San Marcos, Calif., and Ken and Sonja Klaudt, Norcross; sister, Ramona Carpenter, Dacula; and five grandchildren, Karma Davis Klaudt, Dakota Klaudt, Jackson Bailey, Annabeth Pruett, and Andrew Pruett. Funeral services were held Thursday, September 14, at Mt. Paran Central Church of God in Atlanta. Burial was at White Chapel Memorial Gardens in Duluth.
