The deceased was the daughter of the late Colonel James P. Simmons. She was the sister of Major William E. Simmions, of Lawrenceville and Colonel Terrell E. Simmions of Atlanta, both of whom survive her. Her mother was Mrs. Eliza Terrell Simmons, an old resident of Lawrenceville. Mrs. Mitchell was the wife of the late Dr. Tandy Key Mitchell, famous surgeon in the civil war, who at the close of the war practice medicine and surgery in this section for 55 years. In 1866 she was married to Dr. Mitchell and they lived together for over 50 years. She was a charter member of the Woman's Missionary society, and also an honorary life member. She is survived by the following children: James M. and Thomas W. Mitchell, of Atlanta; Mrs. R W Milner, of Manchester, Tenn.; Mrs. Lillie Camp, Misses Ida and Pearl Mitchell, of Lawrenceville, and two brothers, Major William E. Simmons, of Lawrenceville and Colonel Terrell E. Simmons of Atlanta. Rev. J M Tumlin, pastor of the Methodist church will be in charge of the services, assisted by Rev. J R King, of Decatur.
