She was born in Gwinnett County and had been a resident of Rome since 1962. She was the daughter of the late Crawford and Ruby House Nash. She was a member of Garden Lakes Baptist Church and spent 30 plus years working in the church nursery. Mrs. Roberts was preceded in death by her husband, Joe B. Roberts, whom she married December 15, 1944; three sisters, Mattie T. Stinchcomb, Gerladine Garrett, and Blanche Cronic; and one brother, Ralph Nash. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Brenda Kay and David Lake Richardson; two granddaughters, Lauren K. Bush and Jessica T. Richardson; one great-grandson, Michael “Lake” Smith, all of Rome; two sisters, Louise Barnette and Virginia Moulder, Winder; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Eugene and Mary Nash, Winder, Seybron Nash, Elberton, Randall and Diane Nash, Auburn; and many nieces and nephews. Memorial services were held Thursday, July 6, in the chapel of Smith Funeral Home, Winder, with Myron Garrett, nephew of the deceased, officiating. Burial was in Barrow Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers were Frank Cronic, Danny Moulder, Jeffrey Nash, Larry Nash, Robert Nash, Steve Nash, and Gary Stinchcomb. Daniel’s Funeral Home, Rome, was in charge of arrangements.
