Brooke Elizabeth Smith, Flowery Branch, died Monday, July 31, 2006, at 
Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston.

Born on September 1, 2005, in Gwinnett County, she was the daughter of Darrick 
Stephen Smith and Barbara Carter Smith. Miss Smith was preceded in death by her 
grandparents, Ruth Sherman, Sue Smith, and William and Alline Carter; and an 
uncle, Douglas Smith.

Survivors in addition to her parents include maternal grandparents, Bill and 
Sara Carter, Danielsville; paternal grandparents, Steve and Pam Smith, Hull; 
great-grandparents, Roger and Billie Gober, Hull, James E. Smith, Danielsville, 
and Milo Sherman, Hermitage, Tenn.; and aunts and uncles, Amy Carter, 
Nashville, Tenn., Chad and Amanda Sailors, Statham, and Daniel and Jessica 
Smith, Hull.

Funeral services were held Friday, August 4, in the chapel of Lord & Stephens 
Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Passmore officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Sibley Heart Center at Children’s 
Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston: Sibley Heart Center Donation, Children’s 
Healthcare of Atlanta Foundation, Attn.: Diane Lee, 1687 Tullie Circle, 
Atlanta, Ga. 30329. Please include your name and mailing address, as well 
as “In Memory of Brooke Elizabeth Smith” and Darrick and Barbara’s names so 
that the hospital can acknowledge the gift.

Lord & Stephens Funeral Home, Danielsville, was in charge of arrangements.
