She was a native of Miami, Florida, grew up in Maitland, Florida, and lived in the area the past 20 years. She was a graduate of Young Harris College, University of Georgia and received her Masters of Education and Education Specialist from Georgia State University. She was employed with Gwinnett County School System as a counselor at Glenn Jones Middle School and previously at Lanier Middle School, Buford. She was named as a Georgia Counselor of the Year and achieved National Certification of School Counselors. She was a member of the Georgia School Counselor’s Association, Active Parenting of teens, Peer Leader Coordinator, Drug Free Awareness Groups, dance team coach/sponsor and a certified First Responder and an active member of St. Mary and St. Martha of Bethany Episcopal Church, Buford. Survivors include her husband, Jon Stovall, Buford; daughters, Mary Katherine and Elizabeth Florence Stovall, Buford; parents, Flo and Bob Hamilton, Jr., Lake Alfred, Fla.; sister and brother-in-law, Deborah and Bill Bailey, Madison, Ala.; brother, R.J. Hamilton, III, Ft. Pierce, Fla.; father and mother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. T.N. Stovall, Danielsville; 12 nieces and nephews, and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Funeral services were held Wednesday, August 3, at St. Mary and St. Martha of Bethany Episcopal Church, Buford, with Father Chuck Girardeau officiating. Burial was in Hamilton Mill Memorial Gardens, Buford. Memorial contributions may be made to a college education fund for the children.
