He resided for a number of years at Lawrenceville, Ga., where he held office as judge of city court for several years. He came to Atlanta after the death of his wife in July, 1910, and began the practice of law here. He was a prominent Mason, and was a member of the Lawrenceville Methodist church. He had a large circle of friends throughout the state. He was elected to the Georgia senate in 1876. Besides his sister, Mrs. Jordan, he is survived by one son, Courtland S. Winn, prominent Atlanta lawyer and former mayor of the city. Although funeral arrangements were not complete Thursday it is expected that the last rites will be held at Lawrenceville Saturday. Interment will be in the family lot at Lawrenceville.
