Green General Benjamin Cleveland First Generation 1. Benjamin (Tugalo Ben)1 CLEVELAND, son of John (Devil John) CLEVELAND and Catherine Montgomery ne้ SLOAN, was born in Virginia 13 June 1784. Tugalo Ben died 29 June 1858 in Clarkesville, Habersham County, Georgia, at 74 years of age. His body was buried 1858 in Clarkesville, Habersham County, Georgia, Old Clarksville Cemetery. He married Anglin BLAIR in Franklin County, Georgia, 1802. Anglin was born in North Carolina circa 1789. Anglin was the daughter of James BLAIR. Anglin died 1867 in Habersham County Georgia, at 78 years of age. Her body was buried 1867 in Habersham County Georgia. She was listed as a resident in the census report in Habersham County Georgia, 1850. He served in the military during war time 1812 in Franklin County, Georgia. A census listed Tugalo Ben as head of household in Habersham County Georgia, 1820, 1830, 1840 & 1850. He made a will in Habersham County Georgia, May 1858. Benjamin was a Merchant and Justice of the Inferior Court. In 1805, he drew land in Franklin County, Georgia on the Tugalo River. Benjamin (Tugalo Ben) CLEVELAND and Anglin BLAIR had the following children: 2 i. John2 CLEVELAND was born in Franklin County, Georgia 1806. John died 1827 at 21 years of age. 3 ii. James Alexander CLEVELAND was born in Habersham County Georgia 6 September 1808. James died 25 July 1854 in Habersham County Georgia, at 45 years of age. 4 iii. Mary Frances CLEVELAND was born in Habersham County Georgia August 1809. Mary died 26 April 1856 in Nacogdoche County, Texas, at 46 years of age. Her body was buried 1856 in Nacogdoche County, Texas, Oak Grove Cemetery. She married Thomas Jefferson RUSK Esq in Habersham County Georgia, 5 January 1827. Thomas was born in South Carolina 15 December 1803. Thomas was the son of John RUSK and Mary STEMITT. Thomas died 29 July 1857 in Nacogdoche County, Texas, at 53 years of age. His body was buried 1857 in Nacogdoche County, Texas, Oak Grove Cemetery. Thomas was a Lawyer and a member of the Supreme Court. 5 iv. Catherine CLEVELAND was born in Habersham County Georgia circa 1812. Catherine died before 1858 in Mississippi. She married Henry JOHNSON in Habersham County Georgia, 19 April 1830. Mr. Johnson was born circa 1807. Mr. Johnson died in Mississippi. 6 v. Ann CLEVELAND was born in Habersham County Georgia circa 1814. Ann died after 1885 in Mississippi. She married twice. She married Mr. HOYLE. Mr. Hoyle was born circa 1808. Mr. Hoyle died in Mississippi. She married Leander SMITH in Habersham County Georgia, 31 March 1831. Leander was born in Georgia circa 1809. Leander was the son of Austin SMITH. Leander died in Texas.
