Ally and Philip married Sept. 21, 1827. He was Clerk of the Court in Habersham County for over 20 years. Their children were: E. Martin b. 1826; George H b. 1829; Amanda b. 1830; Elizabeth b. 1832; Martha b. 1835 (all birth years on children are approximate). He married second, Dorcus E.E. Prather b. 1818 in South Carolina. Phillip and second wife, Dorcus, raised 2 of his brother James' children: Robert who became a Methodist Minister; and Mattie who marrried Warren Deaton. Philip was brother to my Great grandfather, John Wesley Martin. Their parents were John Wesley Martin, Sr. and Elizabeth Terrell (same family as Governor Terrell of Georgia) Martin. John Sr. was said to be killed by a horse (?) before his twins were born. The twins were John Wesley Jr, (my gg-grandfather) and William Terrell Martin.
