HISTORY OF BETHLEHEM BAPTIST CHURCH _ HABERSHAM COUNTY GA - CLARKSVILLE
1869 - Thomas J. Gastley joined church.
1873-May 31, 1873 - Thomas J. Gastley ordained as deacon.
1884 - December 7, 1884 - Jacob Gastley and T.R. Gastley baptized in Beaver 
Creek one mile from Clarksville.
1886- February 6, 1886 - Bro. Gastley agreed to saw, dry and dress the ceiling 
for the church.
1891- July 4, 1891 - Bro. T.J. Gastley made report for Sister Sara Gastley 
(his wife), she having collected $4.00 which was paid over to the pastor and 
she was released.
1892- July 2, 1892 - Bro. T.J. Gastley reported that a deed to our church 
property had been found in record in office of clerk Page 433, from J. Stowe 
made in 1826.
1893-August 5, 1893- By motion received as a donation from Col. William Crane 
one acre of land on west side of road to be used as cemetery.
1896- June 27, 1896-No conference held today on account of Bro. T.J. Gastley's 
house being destroyed by fire.
1918-Elected R.A. Kimsey Pastor for next year and agreed to baptize at the old 
baptizing place in Gastley's pasture.
1925 - elected Birdie Gastley as organist and T.R. Gastley as song leader.
1935 - Dr. L.G. Hardeman equiped Sunday School room in memory of Bro. T.J. 
Gastley.
