To Howell Cobb Gov.}

State of Georgia}

Habersham County}           Bond to perform the duties of ordinary & School 
commissioner

 

Know all men by these presents that we Cicero H. Sutton as Principal and Sidney 
Barr & Reuben Clark as Securities are held and firmly bound unto Howell Cobb 
Governor and Commander in Chief of the Army and Navy of said State and Militia 
thereof for the time being and his successors in office in the sum of two 
thousand dollars to be paid to the Said Howell Cobb or his Successors in 
Office. Governors of Said State for the time being for which payment well and 
truly to be made and done we bind ourselves our heirs, Executors and 
administrators and each and every one of them jointly and severally, firmly by 
these presents, Sealed with our seals and dated the Second day of February 
Eighteen hundred and fifty two Whereas the above bound Cicero H. Sutton was on 
the fifth day of January Eighteen hundred and fifty two, Elected Ordinary of 
the County of Habersham in Said State.  Now the consideration of the above 
obligation in such that if the Said Cicero H. Sutton, by himself and his deputy 
shall well and truly discharge all and singular the duties required of him in 
virtue of his said office of ordinary as aforesaid and faithfully apply all the 
money which may come into his hands in the capacity of school commissioner 
according to law and the trust to reposed in him then the above obligation to 
be void else to remain in full force and virtue.
