This file was contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives by: Donnie Pickard deemay@netusa1.net ==================================================================== Habersham Co., GA Book R, 381-382 Christopher Addison to Ray Whitfield Habersham Co., Georgia} Deed To Land on Middle River This Indenture made this twenty second day February Eighteen Hundred and forty Seven between Christopher Addison of the county of Franklin & State aforesaid of the one part and RAY Whitfield of the County first aforesaid of the other part – Witnesseth that the said Christopher Addison for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred dollars to him in hand paid at and before the Sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, hath granted bargained Sold and Conveyed and doth by these presents grant bargain sell and convey unto him the said RAY Whitfield his heirs and assigns all that tract or parcel of land situate lying and being and bounded as follows. Beginning at a whiteoak corner thence North 77 E 15 chains to a pine stump, thence N. 62 E 12 chains to a pine thence N. 26 to a pine thence N 74 E 3 chains black oak thence N 7 W 11 chains pine thence N 83 W 24 chains B.O. Stump N. 12 chains to a pine thence straight across to a pine thence S 22 E 10 chains to a Blackoak thence 12 W 19 chains to a pine corner from thence to the beginning Corner. Containing one hundred and twenty five acres more or less in Said County of Habersham on the waters of the middle fork of Broad River. To have and to hold the Said bargained land and premises unto him the said RAY Whitfield his heirs and assigns together with all singular the rights numbers and appurtenances thereof to the Same in any manner thereunto belonging or appertaining and every part thereof to the Said RAY Whitfield his heirs and assigns to his & their own proper use benefit and behoof forever in fee simple. And the Said Christopher Addison for himself his heirs executors and administrators the Said bargained land and premises & every part thereof unto him the Said RAY Whitfield his heirs and assigns will forever warrant and defend the right and title thereof against the claim of themselves and against the claim of all other person whatever.
