Edwards Estate to William E. Jenkins State of Georgia Habersham County This Indenture made this 26th day of April in the year of our Lord Eighteen Hundred and seventy one, between John M. Church of the State and County aforesaid duly constituted Administrator of the Estate of Lemuel B. Edwards, late of said State and County, deceased of the one part and William E. Jenkins of the same place of the other part, witnesseth that whereas by virtue of an order granted by the Honorable Court of said County, prior notice of application having been given agreeably to the Statute in such case, made and provided on the 1st Monday in March 1866, to said John M. Church, administrator as aforesaid to sell a tract of land belonging to estate of the said deceased, situated, lying, and being in the County aforesaid, known and distinguished as lot Number 145 & 156 in the Eleventh district containing three hundred acres more or less with the rights members and appurtenances thereto belonging after the tract of land was duly advertised in conformity to law, the same was put up and exposed to sale to the highest bidder at the door of the Court House at Clarkesville, in said County within the legal hours of sale on the First Tuesday in February Eighteen hundred and sixty seven by said John M. Church, Administrator of aforesaid, when said tract of land was knocked off to said William E. Jenkins at the price or sum of four hundred and ten dollars, he being the highest bidder. Now for and in consideration of the sum of money, four hundred and ten dollars, cash in hand paid to said John M. Church, Administrator of aforesaid by him the said William E. Jenkins at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, said John M. Church the aforesaid hath granted bargained and sold, and by these presents doth grant bargain and sell and Convey unto the said William E. Jenkins, his heirs Executors Administrators and assigns the said tract of land Number 145 and 156 in the Eleventh district of said County with all the rights members and appurtenances thereto belonging or as anywise appertaining unto him the said William E. Jenkins his heirs Executors Administrators and assigns to his and their own proper use benefit and behoof forever in fee simple. In witness whereof said John M.
