Ray Whitfield to Jesse Austin} 

State of Georgia}

Habersham County}                       Deed to Land on Broad River

 

            This Indenture made and entered into this twenty fourth day of 
December Eighteen hundred and fifty one between Ray Whitfield of said County 
and state of the one part and Jesse Austin of the same place of the other part. 
Witnesseth that the Said Ray Whitfield for and in consideration of the sum of 
four dollars in hand paid the Receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, hath 
Bargained and sold and by these presents doth bargain release and forever quit 
claim, to Jesse Austin his heirs and assign all the right title interest claim 
or demand, the said Whitfield has or may have had in and to a certain tract or 
parcel of land granted to the said Whitfield lying and being in the county of 
Habersham on the waters of Broad River having such shape form and marks as a 
plat of the same will more fully show will more fully show. Containing three 
hundred and forty three acres more or less with all the rights members and 
appurtenances to said lot of land in any wise appertaining or belonging. To 
have and to hold the said lot of land to the said Jesse Austin so that neither 
the said Ray Whitfield nor his heirs nor any other person or persons claiming 
under him shall at any time hereafter by any way or means have claim or demand 
any right or title to the aforesaid lot of land or its appertainces or any part 
thereof.  In testimony whereof the said Ray Whitfield hath hereunto set his 
hand and affixed his seal day and year above written
