Hooper } To } Asbury Whitfield } This indenture made and entered unto this thirteenth day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty one between Richard B. Hooper of the one part and Asbury Whitfield of the other part both of the county and state aforesaid- witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred and fifty dollars to him in hand paid at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt hereof is hereby acknowledged have granted bargained sold and conveyed and do by these presents grant bargain sell and convey unto he Said Asberry Whitfield his heirs and assigns all that tract or parcell of land situate lying and being in aforesaid County on the North side of Broad River. It being a part of two tracts one of which was granted to Thos. Payne and the other to Drewry Williams containing Eighty acres more or less beginning at Hezekiah Stephens line on the River Running down Said River to the mouth of the second Branch to a ash corner thence up Said Branch a conditional marked line to Williams’s line westwardly to a Black Oak corner thence a South West course on Williams’s other line to Stephens’s land and to the beginning – To have and To Hold said tract or parcell of land unto the Said Asberry Whitfield his heirs and assigns together with all and singular the rights ____ and appurtenances there of or in any manner wise appertaining to the same and the said Richard B. Hooper will warrant and defend rights and titles to the same against the claim of himself his heirs and assigns and against the claim of all persons or person claiming the same or any part thereof.
