State of Georgia} Habersham county} Deed to Land on Broad River

This indenture made this the twenty sixth of January one thousand 
Eight hundred fifty two between Mort R. Thomas of the one part and 
Ray Whitfield of the other part both of the county of & state 
aforesaid. Witnesseth that the said Mort R. Thomas for and in 
consideration of the sum of one hundred dollars him in hand paid by 
the said Ray Whitfield at and before the sealing & delivery of this 
premises the receipt where of is here by acknowledged hath granted 
bargain sold and delivered & conveyed & doth by these present grant 
bargain sell deliver & convey & doth by these present bargain sell &
deliver & convey unto him the said Ray Whitfield his heirs and 
assigns all that part parcel ____ of a tract of land situated being 
& being at the time of survey in the county of Habersham on the 
middle fork of Bradd River granted to John _ Ralsteron the 
seventeenth day of November in the year Eighteen hundred & twenty 
seven all that part and parcel of said tract of land being on the 
waters of Bardd(?) River beginning at a line corner between Perry 
Loftis & _ land thence Nd to a gully thence down said gulley to the 
River thence up S(said?) Branch to the old orrigenal line thence 
along orignal line to a conditional line made between Samuel Rice & 
JB. olrey(?) P__ a Branghe(?) River thence down said River to 
Loftis(?) line thence along the orignal line between Loftes __ said 
land the pine corner being & _____ all & every part of said tract of
land which is situate on the middle part of Bardd river containing 
fifty acres more or less to have and to hold said tract or parcel of
land unto him the said Ray Whitfield his hiers assigns together with
all and singular the Right members and appurtenances or thereof to 
the same in any manner belonging to his & their own use benefit & 
behoof for ever in fee simple and the said Mort R. Thomas for him 
self his heirs executors & administrators the said bargain promises 
and every part and parcel thereof unto the said Ray Whitfield his 
heirs and assigns will warrant and defend the right and title share 
of against themselves & against the claim of all other persons 
whatever in testimony whereof the said Mort R. Thomas hath hereunto 
set his hand & seal the day and year above written.

Habersham County, Georgia} personally came J___ Blaylock before me 
Russel Davis a Justice of the Peace for said County and often being 
duly sworn deposeth and saith that he saw M.R. Thomas assign the 
within deed & Jas Southerland & J_ __ assign the same as witness and
assigned to same himself as a witness sworn to and subscribe this 
5th day June 1853 J Blaylock.
