Barclay one of the Justices of the Superior Court in and for said County Sarah Pardue a resident of the 409th district Georgia Militia in the County of Habersham and State of Georgia aged seventy one years who being first duly sworn according to Law doth on her oath make the following declaration in order to obtain the benefit of the provision made by the act of Congress passed July the 4th 1836 (or any other act or acts that may embrace the services hereto annexed and herein after named)that she is the widow of Lilliston Pardue a Revolutionary Soldier who was a Sergeant in the Militia in the State of South Carolina for the term of at least six months as appears from a certified copy from the Indent Book T from the Executive Department of the State of South Carolina as per Col. Anderson under whom he served. She also says that according to traditionary evidence he the said Lilliston Pardue was enlisted and mustered into Service in Savannah in the State of Georgia and Territory of Florida and was engaged three successive Sundays in fighting the Indians which latter service She hopes will be readily found on record at the war department. She further declares that she was married to the said Lilliston Pardue on the 5th day of June in the year 1793, that her husband the aforesaid Lillitson Pardue died on the 7th day of February 1807 and that she has remained a widow eversince that period and raised six children that were under sixteen years of age at the death of their father the said Lilliston Pardue as will now fully appear by reference to the proof hereto annexed. She declares that she is now a cripple and unable to support herself without the help of the government. Sworn to and Subscribed on the day and year above written before me Elihu S. Barclay J.S.C. Barclay one of the Justices of the Superior Court in said county in state aforesaid do hereby certify that Sarah Pardue is so indisposed that she could not attend in open court to make her declaration & that I have this day been to see her and that she made it before me June the 3rd 1844. Barclay acting Justice of the Superior Court in and for the said County of Habersham and that the foregoing Signature purporting to be his is genuine. Additional Comments: Lilliston Perdue was married twice. He had three children by first wife - their names unknown. He was 45 years old when he married second Sarah West. They were married for thirteen years when he died. He left six children under sixteen. They were: 1) Fields Perdue (proven by 1819 deed from Sarah to her son Fields) 2) Elizabeth Perdue m. Stephen Christian 3) Mary Perdue married first to Oliver second Thos J.
