MURDERED WHILE SEEKING WIFE

Toccoa, Ga., Nov. 10, 1885

A mysterious murder is under investigation in Habersham County.  Jasper 
Henderson, a well known citizen here, quarreled with his wife last week, when 
she left him and went home.  Saturday he followed her.  As he passed through 
the front gate of his father-in-law’s place he was shot from behind, 13 
buckshot entering his head.  He fell dead on the spot.  The wife, her father, 
mother, sister and brother are all now under arrest for alleged complicity in 
the crime.  The community is greatly stirred up over the matter.
