Hodges, 73, of Baldwin were held at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 24, at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, with burial in Leatherwood Baptist Church Cemetery. Mr. Hodges died Sunday, Dec. 22, 2002, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Decatur. Born in Coats, N.C., on Oct. 29, 1929, he was the son of the late Adell and Susan Brown Parker Hodges. He was preceded in death by a sister, Doris Henry; and brother, Charles Lewis Hodges. Mr. Hodges was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and was of the Baptist faith. He was retired from the heating and air conditioning industry. Survivors include his wife, Beverly Vaughan Hodges of Baldwin; daughters, Dorothy Bunnell of North Carolina, Tammy L. Byrd of Baldwin, Kay Hodges of Fayetteville, N.C.; sons, Billy A. Hodges, Michael Hodges, Billy Ray Hodges and Richard Hodges, all of Fayetteville, N.C., Jaycen A. Hodges of Gainesville; sister, Shirley Brady of Dacula; brother, Bobby Parker of Atlanta; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, was in charge of arrangements.
