John Bohannon

Funeral services for John Bohannon Jr., 81, of Demorest were held at 11 a.m. 
Tuesday, Dec. 24, at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel. The Rev. William 
E. Cox officiated; burial was in Yonah Memorial Gardens with military honors 
provided by Rabun County Disabled American Veterans Chapter 15, and the 
honor guard from Ft. McPherson.

Mr. Bohannon died Saturday, Dec. 21, 2002, at Habersham County Medical 
Center.

Born in White County on June 16, 1921, he was the son of the late John Sr. 
and Katie Fennell Bohannon. He was preceded in death by six brothers and one 
sister.

Mr. Bohannon was a U.S. Army World War II veteran and was a painter and 
floor sander. He was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his sister, Betty Wilson of Demorest, and a number of 
nieces and nephews, including Gail Chambers of Demorest with whom he made 
his home.

Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest ,was in charge of 
arrangements.
