The Rev. Ralph Smith will officiate, with burial in Yonah Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Lanier died Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2003, at Christian Ministries Hospice, Griffin. Born in Habersham County on July 3, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Robert Ansley. A homemaker, Mrs. Lanier loved to garden and listen to music. She was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include her special friend, E.C. Bates of Barnesville; daughters, Mary Abernathy of Helen, Janice Wood of Flowery Branch; sons, Scott Ansley of Cleveland, Lonnie Giles of Cumming, Russell Giles of Marietta; mother, Alpha Edmonds Ansley of Cornelia; brothers, Robert Ansley of Cornelia, Otis Ansley of Rahway, N.J.; several grandchildren; and great-grandchildren. McGahee-Griffin & Stewart Funeral Home, Cornelia, is in charge of arrangements.
