The Rev. Wayne Smith and the Rev. Marcus Martin will officiate. Burial will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens, with the Rev. Bob Ramsey officiating at graveside. Mr. Reems died Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2003, at Lanier Park Hospital. Born in Banks County on Dec. 22, 1923, he was the son of the late Lloyd Reems and Emma Dodd Reems Wade. Mr. Reems was a graduate of Baldwin High School and was the owner and operator of Reems Grocery for several years. He retired from Lee Arrendale State Prison in 1988 after 20 years of service. Mr. Reems was a member of Cornelia United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife, Woodie Shannon Reems of Alto; daughter and son-in-law, Marie and Bill DeHart of Powhatan, Va.; son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Brenda Reems of Alto; sister, Issaqueena Sparks of Alto; brother, Hoyt Wade of Alto; grandchildren, Keith Reems, Brent Reems, Neil Reems, Greg Smith, Kim Smith; and four great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Cornelia United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, 275 Wyly St., Cornelia, GA 30531. Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, is in charge of arrangements.
