The Rev. Billy Burrell and the Rev. Tony Goss will officiate, with burial in Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery. Miss Rowden died Saturday, Oct. 19, 2002, as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Born in Hall County on Sept. 20, 1985, she was a student at North Georgia Technical College. Miss Rowden worked part-time at Kmart and was of Baptist faith. Miss Rowden was preceded in death by her grandfather, Charles Rowden; and great-grandfathers Swayne Wood and John Barron. Survivors include her mother and stepfather, Kay West and Dennis Loudermilk of Clarkesville; father, Phillip Rowden of Clarkesville; brothers, Jonathon Loudermilk of Toccoa, Chase Loudermilk of Clarkesville; grandparents, William and Carol Barron of Clarkesville, Shirley Rowden of Nicolson; great- grandparents, Mildred Wood of Clarkesville, Evelyn Barron of Demorest, Elizabeth Carey of Baldwin. Hicks, 86, of Marietta will be held at 11 a.m. today, Oct. 22, at Central Baptist Church, Marietta. The Rev. Johnny Daniels and the Rev. T.J. McHan will officiate. Graveside services will follow at 3 p.m. today, Oct. 22, in Habersham Mills Cemetery with the Rev. Donald Campbell officiating. Mr. Hicks died Sunday, Oct. 20, 2002. Born in Habersham County, he was a resident of Marietta since 1953. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army Signal Corps and was retired from Lockheed. Mr. Hicks was a charter member and deacon of Central Baptist Church, and a member of the church’s Senior Citizens Group. Survivors include his son, Kenneth Hicks of Jonesboro; two granddaughters; and two great- grandchildren. Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, is in charge of arrangements. Hugh Edward Price Funeral services for Hugh Edward Price, 85, of Demorest will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 23, at Friendship Baptist Church, Winston. Mr. Price died Sunday, Oct. 20, 2002. Born in Douglas County on June 10, 1917, he was the son of the late Joseph Robert and Fannie Mae Arrington Price. Mr. Price was preceded in death by his first wife, Mildred Dutton Price; brothers, William Price, Kenny Price, Guy Price; and sisters, Clara Price and Jewell Camp. Mr. Price was co-owner of Price Brothers Well Drilling Company, a member of Mableton Masonic Lodge and a member of Friendship Baptist Church, Winston. Survivors include his wife, Eula Mae Nation Wheeler Price of Demorest; son, James Edward Price of Mableton; stepdaughters, Barbara Shook of Cornelia, Maevrie English and Pat Roberts, both of Demorest; stepsons, Jimmy Wheeler of Clayton, Henry Wheeler, Johnny Wheeler, Chester Wheeler, Clifford Wheeler, all of Demorest, Donald Wheeler of Clarkesville; brothers, Paul Price of Douglasville, Frank Price of Lithia Springs; 24 stepgrandchildren; 22 stepgreat- grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Nelson Bramlett Funeral services for Nelson Bramlett, 81, of Demorest were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 21, at McGahee-Griffin & Stewart Funeral Home. Dr. Tom Mewborn and the Rev. Brian James officiated with burial in Yonah Memorial Gardens. Mr. Bramlett died Saturday, Oct. 19, 2002, at a private nursing facility following an extended illness. Born in Habersham County on Aug. 12, 1921, he was the son of the late James Tolbert and Lula Pearl Smith Bramlett. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Gene, Jim, Roy and Stoy Bramlett. Mr. Bramlett was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during World War II. He was a member of Clarkesville Masonic Lodge No. 325 F&AM and a member of Double Springs Baptist Church. He was self-employed. Mr. Bramlett married his wife on Oct. 6, 1940. He and his family lived in downtown Demorest for years, lending wisdom and counsel to those in the community. Mr. Bramlett was well loved and respected and will be missed by all who knew him. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, the love of his life, Dorothy Carpenter Bramlett of Demorest; daughters, Gail Bramlett Moore of the old home place in Demorest, Sandra Bramlett Lee of Cornelia; son, Tolbert Bramlett of Cornelia; sisters, Jessie Mae Williams of Clarkesville, Mary Palmer of Demorest; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Dr. Wade Hampton Bell Jr., 77, of Sautee will be held at 2:30 p.m. today, Oct. 22, at Homer Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Jim Stanford, the Rev. Dick Laurens and the Rev. Dr. Jim Huffaker will officiate. Private graveside services will be held at Yonah Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Dr. Bell died Friday, Oct. 18, 2002, at Community Hospice of Northeast Florida following a short illness. Born in Dekalb County on May 18, 1925, he was the son of the late Wade Hampton Bell Sr. and Clarice Potts Bell. He was a graduate of Boy’s High School of Atlanta, Middleberry College in Middleberry, Vt., and Brown University in Providence, R.I. He received his master’s degree in divinity and doctorate degree in ministries from Columbia Theological Seminary in Decatur. He was a Presbyterian minister and a member of the Northeast Georgia Presbytery. The Rev. Dr. Bell was a U.S. Navy World War II veteran. Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Dorothy O. Bell of Sautee; daughter, Dr. Martie Bell of Thomasville, N.C., and her partner, Harry Warren; son and daughter-in-law, Wade H. Bell III and Pam Stevens Bell of Fernandina Beach, Fla., Stan Bell of Loves Park, Ill.; sister in love and husband, Jane and Jody Hynes of Hot Springs, Ark.; six grandchildren; and other relatives. Elrod officiated with burial in Yonah Memorial Gardens. Mr. Whitmire died Thursday, Oct. 17, 2002, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center. Born in Dawson County on Feb. 5, 1947, he was the son of the late William McKinly and Lula Carolyn Carnes Whitmire. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Betty Cahill, Edith Lillian Whitmire; and brother, William McKinly Whitmire Jr. Mr. Whitmire was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, serving in the Vietnam Conflict. He was a carpenter and a member of Liberty Baptist Church, Dawsonville. Survivors include his daughter, Ashley Whitmire of Gainesville, Fla.; sons, Ken Whitmire and Brandon Whitmire, both of Gainesville, Fla.; sisters, Ellen Hammond, Opal Hammond, Martha Jean Jones, Joy Dixon, Lynn Sims and Darlene Church, all of Clarkesville, Josephine Nix of Gainesville; brothers, Talmadge Whitmire, Gerald Whitmire, both of Mt. Airy, Emmitt Whitmire of Demorest. Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest was in charge of arrangements. D.E. Deignan Well read, well traveled and much loved, D.E. Deignan, 50, of Atlanta, died Sept. 5, 2002, from injuries sustained in a fall from a ladder outside her home. A former Banks County resident, Deignan was an accomplished artist, writer and political satirist. A lifelong animal lover, Deignan co-founded Argus Animal Fund in 1995. She is survived by a sister, Carol McKay; two nieces; her companion, Julie Robertson; and her beloved cat, Guy. She also leaves behind many friends around the world who will miss her greatly. Margaret Jean Woody Graves Funeral services for Margaret Jean Woody Graves, 54, of Cleveland will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 23, in the chapel of Alexander’s Gateway Chapel Funeral Home. The Rev. Perry Smith will officiate, with burial in Silver Shoals Baptist Church Cemetery, Banks County. Mrs. Graves died Monday, Oct. 21, 2002, at her residence following an extended illness. Born in Muskogee County, she spent most of her life in Blackshear, before moving to White County in 1990. She was a homemaker. Survivors include her husband, Paul Graves of Cleveland; sons and daughters-in-law, Joey and Crystal Graves of Baldwin, David and Jennifer Graves of Rhode Island; daughter, Malissa Graves of Cleveland; daughters and sons-in-law, Mary and Billy Arrowood of Cleveland, Jannie and Michael Skelton of Cleveland; sister, Paula Gail Sikes of Blackshear; 11 grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m. today, Oct. 22, at the funeral home.
