Mr. Perkins was born in Habersham County and lived here most of his life. He had resided in Columbia for about six years. He was a son of Mrs. Sallie Duckett Perkins of Cornelia and the late Vance Perkins. Funeral services were to be held this afternoon at Harmony Baptist Church with Rev. Hubert Dodd and Rev. Billy Burrell officiating. Interment was to follow in Harmony Church cemetery. Besides his mother, he is survived by five brothers, John S. Perkins of Savannah, Tom B. Perkins of Waverly Hall, Robert L. Perkins of Jackson, Miss, Bynum Perkins of Atlanta and Swenson Perkins of Cornelia; six sisters, Mrs. H. W. Turk, Miss Louise Perkins and Miss Dixie Perkins, all of Atlanta, Miss Rachel Perkins of Cornelia, Major Sally M. Perkins of Ft. Gordon, GA, Mrs. John J. O'Connell, Jr. of Tuscaloosa, AL. Pallbearers were R. W. Waters, Marvin York, Pope Welborn, Robert Loudermilk, Jack Edwards, Sr., Paul Reeves, Fred White and Reeves Church. McGahee Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
