The Rev. Furman Lewis and the Rev. George Deadwyler officiated. Mrs. Ivester died Thursday, June 13, 2002, at her residence following an extended illness. Born in Habersham County on May 31, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Thomas W. and Ida Youngblood. She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church, a homemaker and a couturier seamstress before working and retiring from International Outerwear in Clarkesville. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Buford Whisenant; second husband, Henry A. Ivester; and a granddaughter, Wisa Jeanine Sands. Survivors include her stepdaughter, Ruth I. Rollins of Greenville, S.C.; son, Buford Whisenant of Clarkesville; daughter, Florence W. Sands of Clarkesville; granddaughter, Dee Couter of Clarkesville; grandsons, Evan Whisenant of Clarkesville, Phil Sands of Helen; and great-grandson, Wesley Couter of Clarkesville.
