Bagwell, Gainesville, Ga. Gainesville, Ga., July 17.--(Special)-- John D. Bagwell, one of Gainesville's prominent citizens and successful business men, died this afternoon. Mr. Bagwell was born September 18, 1844. On February 7, 1867, he married Miss Parreness Prator and six children blessed this union, viz.: Mrs. E. N. Gower, W. A. Bagwell, R. D. Bagwell, of Bedford, Ind,; Mrs. W. A. McLain, of Clarkesville; Miss Addie Bagwell and George Bagwell, all of whom, with their mother, survive him. He served throughout the civil war as a member of Company F, Forty-third Georgia Regiment. Mr. Bagwell organized and has for years operated the Bagwell & Gower Manufacturing Company, wholesale and retail buggy and wagon manufacturers. Mr. Bagwell is survived by the following brothers and sisters: William E. of Forsyth county; James M. and Albert Bagwell, of this county; Dr. J. A. Bagwell, of Ingleside; Mrs. C. M. Howington, Mrs. Noah Brogdon, Mrs. Ed Dericott, of Pitts, and Mrs. S. E. Gunter, of this county. The funeral and interment will occur tomorrow afternoon. Additional Comments: John Daniel BAGWELL, born 18 September 1844, son of Berry and Ferrybee Emaline (STRICKLAND) BAGWELL, married Parreness Anne PRATER, born 1 September 1848, daughter of William and Elizabeth Jane (WILSON) PRATER.
