XXXVIII - No. 304 - Front Page, Column 4 ILL HEALTH DRIVES WOMAN TO SUICIDE ---------------------- Mrs. Charles G. Groover, Bride of Six Months. Drinks Carbolic Acid at Home in College Park. ---------------------------------------- Mrs. Charles G. Groover, aged 28, committed suicide Thursday afternoon about 4 o'clock by drinking the contents of a bottle of carbolic acid. Ill health is said to have been the cause. She lived at Magnesia Crossing, in College Park. Mr. and Mrs. Groover lived with his father and mother and had been married only about six months. She was well known in Atlanta, having been employed in the department stores of the city before her marriage. Thursday morning Mrs. Groover came to Atlanta for a shopping trip. Returning to her home in the afternoon, she complained of feeling very badly and spent most of her afternoon in her room, though in the morning she seemed to be in good spirits. About 4 o'clock, while her mother-in-law was sitting on the porch, some of the children called attention to the perculiar noises heard in the room. Going in to investigate, Mrs. Groover was found lying across the bed in an unconscious condition. Medical help was summoned, but she died in a short time. Mrs. Groover is survived by her husband and her father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. S. L. Prater, and one sister, Mrs. Nellie Thompson. Her body was removed to Donehoo's chapel. Additional Comments: Lilla Mae PRATOR and Charles G. GROOVER were married on the 6th of October 1915 in East Point, Fulton county, Georgia.
